A new adventure…
I sit in a cafe in Seoul writing this, wondering where do I begin to share my travels of the last 14 years.
I have been to so many cities I have honestly lost count. There are so many memories that if it only happened yesterday, others would have disappeared, like the sand shifting in the Sahara.
But I keep getting asked to write about my travels. To share my experiences of the places I have been, the people I have met, and I guess, what or why I can't sit still.
I don't want this to become a "Here are five things to remember when you pack for x" or "Here are ten tips to survive y". If you are here hoping to read about that, then you are in the wrong place. There are loads of explorers out there already doing that. And yes, I do use their sites to help me figure out my travel plans. So why get in their way when they already do an amazing job?
No, this exploration blog (I have no idea what to call it; I am rubbish at naming things) is just me sharing my journey. I'm not sure what I will share or write about. But to me, this is the beauty of writing - allowing your fingers to run away from your brain. And before you know it, you have a story. It's as if your fingers can tap into a part of your brain where stories are held and finds a way to bring them onto the page.
I will say this. Seoul has yet again amazed me. I have been drawn back to this city several times now, and for whatever reason, it ignites my creativity, unlike anywhere else. I can't point to a reason why, but I do know that I have thought about writing about my travels and was never quite able to bring myself to start.
And yet here we are. In Seoul. With yet another creative idea taking form.
